These drawings were made in my first-ever art class, a botanical illustration class my final year as an undergraduate (I was a biology major at UCSC).
I had to withdraw from this class because I was unable to control my perfectionism. Despite the longer and longer hours I was giving to each piece, I was getting further and further behind in the class.
My friend Clara Weygandt saw all this and took pity on me-- and insisted that, instead, I should buy a Pentax K1000 and give photography a try. |
