17) RATS, PIGS, & TIGER BEETLES

It was a glorious spring morning.
The sun came streaming through the palace windows.
Outside the rats were running through the bushes,
Wild pigs were squealing
And oinking--hoping,
For morsels
To eat.

The Princess-who-was-mean lay prone and chortling.
"Those are my favorites,
Pets doing royal bidding.
They're getting rid of tigers."

More rats at UCSC
Than on any other college campus in the nation.
More pigs at UCSC
Than on any other college campus in the nation.
Perhaps more feral pigs at UCSC
Than on all the other college campuses combined.
